Every Lady can be a MOM

Yes. The title of my blog is true. Every lady can be a mom. We know all about being a biological mom, but whether married and can’t have children, single lady or an older lady, if you want to be a mom, it is your choice.

By the way, happy Mother’s Day to all Moms. If you are not a mom and feel left out in this once a year, day celebration, from here on out, you can be a mom and celebrate with joy and pride.

These following personal examples are what I am talking about. If you are single, or married and can’t have biological children, you can adopt a child or children. Yes, you can go through the legal process and the courts, to adopt a child, but if you are involved and a member of a church, you have the option of being involved in a life. You can adopt a family, talk with the adults and let them know you would want them to pray and consider allowing you to be a part of their family and the lives of their children. This was a tremendous blessing to Jim and I when we were a young couple teaching in South Carolina. After three years of marriage, we had our daughter Heidi. Our parents lived in Northern Michigan, so we had two couples in our church who took us under their wings and became a part of our lives. That was a blessing beyond what we could have ever hoped. Walt, Joyce, Mac (Papa) and Carolyn (Mimi). These forever friends will receive their rewards in heaven.

Two years later, the Lord led us to Milford, Ohio; First Baptist Church, and Dr. Charles Keen, (Preacher); and Milford Christian Academy. (Later, Pastor Bill Duttry). After two years, we had our son, Stephen. We had couples in our church who again, took us under their wings. (our parents still living in Northern Michigan) We had just arrived in Milford, attending the church, and the Lord brought, Jim and Elsie in to our lives and loved us from the beginning. Jim T. gave my Jim a three month job, when school was out for the summer. We would never forget Martie and Marie, who were there for us any time, any place. Martie took on being our sub contractor when we were building our house near the school and church. We have been blessed. These examples are for you to know, so you can have a family, or child to care for as well.

You may live near a Christian college and there are young ladies who may need a mom figure, to care for her. It may be shopping, counseling with a listening ear, or may be some one who would provide homemade goodies. Another possibility could be a bus child. Meet the parents, let them know you would like to be a part of their child’s life. It may be celebrating a birthday, “just because” trip to MacDonald’s, or buy a backpack for school. Yes, there will be guidelines in “Adopting” a family or child; but possibilities can be turned into abundant blessings.

Don’t allow yourself to be downhearted because you are not married, or married, but can not have biological children; because your choices are before you. You can still be a blessing to someone.

If you are a biological mom, count your blessings as well. Your time, endless energy, and your household duties, can be turned into blessings, as you hug and kiss your child/ren God has given you.

Every lady can celebrate being a mom. Your choice. I hope you think and pray about this idea. If you are breathing, God is not done with you yet, so think outside the box and be a mom to someone. If you do not know where to start, talk with your pastor and his wife to get information about families that are connected to your church. Someone needs you.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

For this child I prayed and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him. I Samuel 1:27

He hath made everything beautiful in his time. Ecclesiastes 3:11a

Happy Mother’s Day, Ladies!!!!
